For 50 years, WOAR – Philadelphia Center Against Sexual Violence has provided an empathetic ear, a caring heart and a helping hand to anyone who has experienced sexual violence recently, or at any time in their life. Each year, we helped thousands of survivors of sexual violence in Philadelphia through our hotline and in-person support and advocacy.

WOAR has been busy with Back-to-School season, starting with the Bus Tours hosted by the School District of Philadelphia. We handed out body safety activity books, rainbow pencils, and even asked them to name a boundary that they have-and they delivered!!
One of WOAR`s core services is bringing age-appropriate workshops into schools to talk about consent, boundaries, healthy relationships, and more-starting as young as kindergarten! 💙 WOAR is now offering a Men’s+ Drop-In Support Group for male-identifying and nonbinary survivors of sexual assault to connect, share, and heal. Scheduled weekly on Tuesdays starting August 12th.
This is not a trauma-processing group. Instead, the focus is on understanding the science of trauma, recognizing and expressing emotions, and building strong, sustainable support networks.
Attendance is not required but we highly encourage you to attend all five.💙
On Wednesday, July 30th, WOAR team members joined the Red Sand Project for the annual event raising awareness about Human Trafficking and Child Exploitation.
The Red Sand that is poured into the sidewalk crack symbolizes the victims who fall through the cracks in our systems.

Earlier this month WOAR joined metoomvmt for the launch of their powerful new PSA The Rules at The Barnes Foundation. This PSA shines a critical light on the adultification of Black girls and the narratives that perpetuate harm.
